OFFSET PRINT

Offsetdruck has ancient origins, the forerunner of offset printing is lithography, invented in the 19th century. Nowadays offset printing is very popular, especially when it comes to printing many copies and achieving the highest print quality. The more copies there are to print, the lower the cost, of course. Offset printing is a type of printing that requires long preparation processes because the machine has to be “thirsty”. In a first step, the graphic work is transferred to a film. This once developed film is printed on the aluminium matrix plate (one plate for each colour that contains the processed product). Now the matrices are ready for printing. In order to avoid this long preparation, the printers have been using CTP (Computer to plate) for their work for almost 10 years. With this innovative machine you can transfer the graphic work directly from the computer to the plate and thus avoid all steps of the prepress .

Once the plate is ready, the ink is transferred from the plate to a rubber cylinder, which in turn transfers the image to the paper. As already mentioned, the quality of offset printing is very high, as even the smallest colour variations can be achieved in printing.Offsetdruck is recommended if you have to make many copies.

If you want to make offset printing, you should keep these characteristics in mind:

Excellent print quality
High number of copies
Longer waiting times compared to digital printing

Offset printing is recommended for printing books, catalogues and magazines. It is better than other types of printing, especially if you need high volume production.
